My ‘Aha’ Moment

Since the age of 12, I knew I wanted to be a business owner but I could never quite pin down exactly what I wanted to do. I had tried being a web and graphic designer but that wasn’t quite right. While scrolling through my favorite Facebook groups, I had my “aha” moment!

Like millions of others, the quarantine made my world come to a theoretical halt. For the first month or so, I enjoyed the break. Naturally, I am an introvert so being in the house 24/7 was great! Being able to cook for my family, catch up on my “to be read” pile of novels, and make my way through my suggested Netflix list was my definition of a great time. Quickly, it got old. I had to figure something out. Living in the tourist town of Myrtle Beach, “good” jobs were already few and far in between.

Since the age of 12, I knew I wanted to be a business owner but I could never quite pin down exactly what I wanted to do. I had tried being a web and graphic designer but that wasn’t quite right. While scrolling through my favorite Facebook groups, I had my “aha” moment!

Because of the quarantine, many people had turned to self-employment after being laid off. This created a dire need for support in the form of Virtual Assisting. I spent the next couple of weeks scouring Pinterest, Etsy, and blogs for more information on this industry.

Within the next month, I compiled every skill I had and created my first Service Guide. With nothing but faith and an iMac, I launched my virtual assisting business.

Now 9 months later, my business is everything I could have ever wished for. As I sat back and reflected on how far I’ve come, I knew I needed to share this journey in some way.  I never thought blogging would be my “thing” but it just makes sense.

I’m so glad that you’ve joined me here. I intend to use this blog to share things I’ve learned, new services, tips and tricks, and more. Whether you are a business owner or a new virtual assistant yourself, thank you for being here.
